monsieur hulot's holiday part five

well, here 'tis, friday night and time for the grande finale of monsieur hulot. i know that some of my readers have likely found it hard to get used to, but if you let down your guard (and your twenty first century critical sense of "funny") long enough, then you'll really enjoy this fabulous old film.

monsieur hulot's holiday part nine . . .
monsieur hulot's holiday part ten . . .

c'est fin!

Oh Lord, Steven! This is so funny ... I just had to interrupt my viewing prior to the last installment to tell you that I have probably been waking up the neighbors with my chortling!

This Monsieur Hulot is perhaps one of the most inept, at the same time most lovable ... back later ... ... I'm back ... oh, Steven ... the car, the boat, the horse ... my my my my my!!!!! :)

Is that Christmas one you talked about anywhere near as good? If so, I want to see it! (Hope I'm not the only one?)

i goldenrod, i'm glad that you enjoyed monsieur hulot and had some good laughs. i'm working on some christmas posts right now and the one i mentioned looks like it's set to go. i know it's early to be thinking of christmas but this weekend i'll be putting my lights up. they won't be turned on for quite a while yet but as you know, i really don't like cold hands and it looks like the "indian summer" we just had is good and gone and so i figure i'll save myself a little trouble and discomfort.

Very smart to be putting up your lights early, Steven! Frozen fingers are an absolute no-no. Boy, the Dakotas got it just within the past couple of days ... yowsers! I seem to recall a couple of people who (when I lived in the UP) left their lights up year round. For that very reason, I'm sure -- but, as a kid, I thought they were "odd". :)
