the foggy fields

waking early on a foggy morning.
light floats inside each droplet.

everything holds its own patina of moisture.

come on, let's follow this path.

once past its welcoming opening, you enter the foggy fields.

the brighter edges of birdsong are softened in the cool wet air
the crows welcoming calls lose their raspy edge

colours are gentler

thoughts are kinder

I can all but feel the cool moisture, Steven. You take us there into the half light and damp.

We often wake up to fog over the fields here. It's so soft and muted.

One foggy day recently I spotted a deer within 100 feet. We stared at each other calmly for several minutes before he walked away. So true about calm.
